How It Works
1. Theme Selection
A theme or issue is identified in collaboration with the partner municipality, school, or organization. Examples may include:
-
social isolation and loneliness
-
community building
-
gender equality and inclusion
-
immigration and multicultural integration
-
workforce challenges and labor shortages
2. Participant Recruitment
Participants are invited from the community, school, workplace, or local population. A typical Kaizen Circle includes 10–20 participants representing diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
3. Facilitated Sessions
Participants gather for sessions led by a trained facilitator. Through guided discussions, participants share experiences, perspectives, and insights related to the selected theme.
4. Collective Reflection
Participants reflect on common themes, underlying causes, and emerging insights from the conversations. This stage encourages deeper understanding of the issue and helps identify areas where change may be possible.
5. Co-Creation of Ideas and Solutions
Participants collaboratively generate ideas, proposals, or approaches that could contribute to addressing the issue. The goal is not only discussion, but also collective problem-solving and meaningful action.
6. Insights and Impact Report
Key insights, themes, and potential solutions are summarized in a report that can be shared with the partner organization and, when appropriate, the wider community. These insights may support future initiatives, policies, community programs, or organizational strategies.
